Wedding Color Palettes for Different Seasons

Wedding Color Palettes for Different Seasons

When planning your wedding, you should keep in mind that different seasons have different color palettes. Even though wedding season lasts all year long, there are many variations in color palettes that you should keep in mind. The only problem is choosing between so many options!

Our goal today is to explain how you can choose your wedding colors depending on the season you're getting married in. Using the weather and your surroundings as inspiration can make the process of figuring out what color palette to use SO much easier. It’s almost like the colors of the season decide for you! Keep reading for some inspiration:

SUMMER WEDDINGS (JUNE, JULY, AUGUST)

You can always choose a garden or beach wedding theme for your summer wedding. If you want to make a statement, pick vibrant colors such as pink, blue, green, orange, or yellow! In the summer you can use beautiful golden shades paired with some of your favorite bright colors.

Most brides choose to design their wedding color scheme around oranges, yellows, and blues for summer weddings. Be bold and creative! Summer weddings will also look great with punchy primary hues, tropical greens, and rustic neutrals.

FALL WEDDING COLORS (SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER, NOVEMBER)

Autumn is one of the most popular seasons for weddings, and it's easy to see why: the weather is warm but not too hot, guests can wear formal attire, and the leaves change color, creating the perfect backdrop for fall weddings! It's likely that you already have an idea of the colors you want for your autumn wedding. Purple, burgundy, rust, and red are just a few of the gorgeous colors of an autumnal wedding. Fall weddings also trend towards golds and metallics as you approach the cooler months. Muted colors and a rustic palette are great choices.

WINTER WEDDING COLORS (DECEMBER, JANUARY, FEBRUARY)

It's time to throw a wedding in the snow!

We have grown to love winter weddings as it has become one of our favorite wedding seasons. Winter weddings feature a wide spectrum of colors, ranging from classic festive favorites to variations on copper, metallics, pinks, frosted pastels, grays, blues, and so much more.

Your winter wedding can be decorated in a variety of beautiful colors. White, red, and purple are ideal winter colors because they are warm and opulent. There are also pastels with a cool feel if bolder colors aren't your thing. Also, if you are getting married in February, why not incorporate shades of pink and red into your color scheme?

SPRING WEDDINGS (MARCH, APRIL, MAY)

Spring is the perfect time for weddings! The foliage is in full bloom at this time of year, and the weather is neither too hot nor too cold. Spring weddings offer so many reasons to love them, among them seasonal blooms, soft sunlight, and longer days. But isn't color another reason to love them? A spring wedding is sure to be beautiful after a long, gray Winter - whatever your style, theme, or budget.

A soft pink, coral, or yellow color palette is best suited for spring nuptials. Pastel shades of these hues also look amazing! Greens, creams, and whites go well with these colors.

We hope these color palettes have helped inspire you for your wedding! It’s so important that you choose colors that bring you joy and feel right. There are really no rules, but it’s helpful to get some ideas so you can know where to start. And if you’re still a little unsure, remember that you don’t have to stick to one theme if you don’t want to - after all, it’s your big day!
